Today we had a Parents Day Out fundraiser. Like a Parents Night Out, but we just opened our home from 12:30-6pm for parents to get whatever December things done that needed to be done during whatever hours they chose. We started out pretty calm and quiet, but by 3:00 most kids were here, fresh from naps and ready to party:) Thankfully it was then that my dear friend Tamara came to help out for the rest of the afternoon!
We had 16 kids (including our own) ranging from 8 months-6 years old, and they were all awesome. We played, had snacks, got out some moon dough, played musical chairs and hide and seek (which got a little loud and crazy but so fun!),
at which time I calmed them down by bringing out some coloring, and then played some more and ended the day with a dance party. Here are all the kids except two- one who just left, and one who had not yet arrived. So cooperative to sit for my picture (I won't tell you that as I was setting them all down for the pictures my own said in his sweet 22 month old voice "Nandy?" and held out his hand for a piece of candy... he is used to being bribed, I confess!)We are very blessed to have a home in which to entertain all these children, and blessed in knowing so many people with dear sweet children who want to spend the day with us, and again so blessed to have friends willing to give up an afternoon to hang out with 16 little kids! Thank you all for joining in, and we will be doing a PNO in February.
(musical chairs, they were so cute!)
