Going into the process we were told we would get 3 or 4 photos of the kids, and that was about it. We are so blessed to say that we have already received more than 10 of each child, and they keep coming!! Each month we have received photos, and they have changed so much. For the better... The fear and sadness in M's eyes has been replaced with peace and happiness, and for the first time we saw smiles, and one even showing his teeth! It makes my heart glad that he is content where he is (in a foster home, receiving LOVE), and yet I know that the fear and sadness and loss will happen again, when he gets on that crazy flying bird and is handed out over to white strangers. What he doesn't know is that those white strangers are the ones who have prayed for him and cared for him from afar, and they will NOT be handing him off to anyone or leaving him behind!
And baby Z has grown into a gorgeous baby girl, sitting, smiling, making adorable face, getting rolls on her legs and sparkles in her eyes... She always looked happy in her photos, but so wonderful to see and hear from reports that she is doing so well.
We got reports from a PA here in the states who paid all the kids in foster care a visit, and the reports were good! I can't go into detail, but nothing alarming in the slightest and I was surprised to hear that M is not shy, and was friendly towards her. This is good news, and hopefully he will not be too upset when he meets us? Very thankful for every scrap of information we can gather. It may not seem like much, and I can get frustrated by the report that she went all the way to Congo and I get "looks good" and "very active" when she could have written a paragraph in 2 more minutes, but I rejoice in every word she wrote! God is good. He is watching over our little ones and bringing people into their lives to care for them when we can not.
Now on to wait for the next scrap to come our way!
