Soft spot
Things in baby G land are really good. She is still a very active, content, sweet baby. She is into everything she can scoot over to, drag herself up on, and put her in her mouth. She had knocked her face a few times bumping it on the way down from pulling up, and I have been washing my kitchen floor frequently so her clothes don't get ruined while acting like a human mop!
She had her first unsupervised visit with Aunt and Uncle on Tuesday. I don't know where they went, but they picked up and dropped off as directed and all went well. He said it was so nice to not be confined to the visitation room. I have no doubt!! I truly like them, and have faith they can provide her with the live and protection that baby G will need going forward.
But I also have a soft spot for bio dad. I would continuously worry if she went home to him, but I harbor no ill will towards him. He loves her, and I dab appreciate the fact he values us as foster parents and is continually thankful for us taking care of baby G. Yesterday he patted me on the back as he thanked me for “letting” him visit her (not that I control these things, but I do show up at the right place and time as directed with a smile on my face with a happy baby). I swear there were tears in his eyes and I almost wanted to give him a hug. But not quite… I do pray for him and bio mom, whom baby G should be visiting on Mother's Day- but this would be the third “should be” visit, so we will see if it happens.
So until whatever happens happens, we keep on loving her thankfully!
