We have been loving on baby B for one month now. He is naturally a happy, go with the flow, roly poly little guy, but of course when he started daycare he got sick at the end of week one. It started with drippy nose. Then fever, a big vomit, more fever. I took him to the doctor and he had an ear infection, but I think in my expert opinion it was coupled with a virus and a cold. It has hung on for two weeks now! The fever disappeared with antibiotics, but the nose, drippy eyes and irritability have lingered, and moved onto a cough and steady stream of clear snot 24/7. Fun times! But he is a trooper, and still sleeping well for the most part, just not quite as content as normal. Hoping he kicks this nastiness soon and goes to being his bright eyed little self!
I took him for a cranium examination and he does indeed need a helmet to properly form his head. It takes a while for insurance and then measurements and manufacturing the helmet, but it should be complete in the next month. The sooner the better as it will be there for 4 months.
He turned 7 months and popped two teeth through on the bottom, and is getting on all 4s and crawling a few steps before going back to the army crawl which he is quite proficient at. He will also pull to stand on people, but he can't hold his balance once up, or know how to sit back down yet. But he is very mobile and we need to close doors as he is into things pretty quickly now.
He had a court date on Friday and we were prepared to send him home, but courts ruled that his parents need to complete a long check list of things to bring him back to their fold. So here he stays. And we are okay with that! While the bonding isn't complete, we do love him dearly and very happy to have him as an honorary member of the family for as long as they ask.
