When we were at the Hope meeting one of the speakers was talking about how he learns a lot about his family by reading his wife's blog while he is at work, as with kids around it is hard to have conversation sometimes and so he is thankful he can keep up with his own family through their blog:) I saw Scott agree with this. Or maybe, if you are like me, you sometimes write what you don't say/can't say/feel would be taken better with time to process in print! I mentioned wanting to foster in the future to Scott, but I inherited something (well, lots of things, mostly good) from my mother: the way of keeping silent and letting God work. I know if I mentioned adopting to Scott too often years ago he would feel backed into a corner, "nagged", so I plopped little trinkets of info here and there, and voila! TWO kids are now in our family!
I mentioned the interest to foster and was shot down before (before adopting internationally it was in my heart), and he knows it is still something I want to do, but I don't talk about it. I think it was Sunday night he was talking with the kids about switching some beds around, and he mentioned keeping the toddler bed in case we need it, for a foster child or something. I simply looked at him, smiled, and gave him a thumbs up:) Thank you God for letting him think about it, too!!
