Train Up a Child

We have now completed 21 of our 27 hours of training hours, and are enjoying the classes and getting a lot out of them! It is (interesting? thought provoking? logical?) how taking classes about children's needs/adoption, parenting, families, makes me a better parent! Even though really nothing has changed within our family yet, my heart and mind have been churning and I have been stepping forth and really TRYING to be a better mommy! I remember when M and Z first came home I was so extremely patient and kind and right out of a parenting book, and then life settles in and you get into routines and thinking less about the act of parenting and loving and bonding and you just start doing all the steps that need to happen to get you through the day... So thankful that whatever happens regarding foster parenting, it is always a good excuse to get extra reminders on ways to improve on our current family:) We have also been calling these classes "dates", since they are time away from our kids, car rides to talk about stuff, plus a meal! That equals a date, right?!
