"You have been invited"

I guess I never posted again, but we said yes to short term for two children. We had an initial home study visit a few weeks after that conversation, where she got a tour of our home, an introduction to the family, and a little chatting time. It was a good, comfortable visit. She told us about the training schedule, but we were bumped from the next session as they were full. Then we got the letter of invite, and we start classroom training tomorrow! We have completed nearly all of the paperwork, so are on our way. It is very exciting and also terrifying! Training is 27 hours, and will be completed May 10. A few more home study visits, and then we wait for a placement... We have a room ready, and we will be as ready as can be, come what may! Wheels are turning...
