The week before Spring Break I was told bm was being induced next Wednesday due to baby's size. Because of Scott's injury and subsequent surgery I had to put any Spring Break plans on hold anyway, so we filled our days as best as possible and waited for baby to be born. He came into the world as planned that Wednesday, but smaller than predicted at only 7.7, and on that Friday I picked him up from the hospital and brought him home. It was an interesting interaction as bm was so excited to see me and handed him right over, but then sobbed as I left with him, It was hard, but better that I already have a relationship with her vs a stranger taking her baby.
He has been here for over two weeks now and doing great. CUTE as all get out, and doing what newborns do. He is being rather kind at night and sleeping most of the night with just 2-3 wake ups where I change and feed him and lay him back down. His morning care takers have been wonderful, his birth parents have been showing up to every visit, his birth weight was surpassed by his 10 day check up by half a pound, and he is not too spitty with regular formula. Big brother shows 5% interest in him, but more interest in his bottles, pacifiers, and baby equipment! I have to keep newborn (Baby I) up off the level where he can be hit with objects or accidentally squashed in any way as even though baby B doesn't take interest in him, he is oblivious of the harm he could cause! But really we are all doing well, and my kids are enjoying a new squishy baby in the house!
I am raising 7 kids. WOW. That is a lot of little people under my roof when I stop to think about it!! Please pray for them to be reunited with their family soon!
