Adoption in Christ

I bet you didn't know that I was adopted, did you? What?! How do I look "just like my mom" then? Well, there are different kinds of adoption, and my adoption is one that you can be part of and you can be an eternal sister or brother to me!
The Bible tells us that all who know God personally are adopting into Christ.
Ephesians 1:3-5 says "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love He predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ.
What does that mean?! Well, I am not a Bible scholar, but what I can tell you quite simply is this: God wanted me. He picked me. He adopted me. He loves me like his own! Before the world was created he knew about me and knew that one day I would be in his family- and I am so blessed to be able to call him Father!
John 14:18 also tells us " I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."


I obviously am full of fault and sin, but thankfully God loves me and can forgive me. Just like a loving father. We can tell from reading His words that he has a heart for orphans, and this is just one reason why it has been laid on our hearts to help the fatherless. We do not want to leave them alone. We can come to them, as God came to us.

I am so blessed to be adopted by my Savior!
