No, we are not bonding with a placement of aforementioned baby or any other. He was not ready for a busy family like ours, and needed much more care than we/doctors knew was realistic. But last week I took a training class through the county and met a lady who has been fostering for over a year, and they are now into the adopt portion of the boy in their home, adding to their three bio boys. We hit it off, and set up a playdate for today. It was just her and foster son, with me and E and Z. We had a picnic to start it off and kids were all eating nicely, then Everett got the little boy going, doing some booty shaking dance moves, and then playing with his baseball cap. It was good to just see NORMAL when you hear stories, and good to chat with a mama who gets stuff.
We were walking along a path and Everett had put his hands on Z's shoulders and they were walking, then the boy put his hands on E's shoulders and they all were chant/singing some made up song while marching along, all impromptu. Another moment the little boy (also AA), reached over and was feeling Z's hair and boinging her curls. It was just a really precious afternoon, and we plan to get the whole gang together another time!
