Respite

I came home from the park and found that CPS had called. No message. I was told it is good to call them sometimes and just check in, so I called and they said not sure who the call was from, but they didn't have any placements for me. Then we got to chatting and asked if we would like to do a respite at the end of the month for a little almost 5 month old. YES! I talked at length today to the foster mom (who has to go out of town so will not be bringing the baby with her), and she sounds like a great baby who will be just fine in our house of busy-ness. This will be a great experience to get our toes wet, and a PERFECT age for the kids. Not too fragile, but yet not into things either! I am not telling them yet as they will be too excited, but it should be a good experience for all of us. We even will be doing a birth parent visit, meaning I will drop baby off with birth father and social worker, and then pick her back up. This is all such a difference experience. It takes a village.
