We did a home visit on Sunday and spent our "break" at the pool, so we didn't miss her too much. Let's face it, the pool with a baby is not quite as relaxing as it is without one... but when I picked her back up I realized how happy I was to see her smiling face, and the kids nearly pounced on her when we walked through the door.
Sadly I can't post her warm bright eyes and gummy infectious smile, but just know she is adorable and well loved and taken care of. A very positive first respite/ foster experience for us. But still so sad it was so short, and knowing we were totally spoiled by the perfect baby.. But God is good, and praying for this little one who should be going HOME soon:)

First Respite Complete!
Oh my, little J was the sweetest, happiest, most adorable little thing ever! The whole family enjoyed her, and I mean all 7 of us. This was a test to see how our kids would react, and I can say she made everyone smile a little more. Zuri was a bit more clingy and needy, especially at the beginning, but not BAD, and Everett was not jealous at ALL and actually repeatedly went to her and comforted her, laid down with her, made her laugh, and just loved on her. Mikaiah was neither interested or affected at all at first, but he warmed to her and carried her around and kissed her spontaneously by the time she was leaving. Bennett has always loved babies, and this little peanut just made his week! He was so in love, and was stuck to her, carrying her around and making faces at her. Avery was super excited at first, and put her on her back in an Ergo and walked her to sleep. She remained very happy to be around her, but less ga ga after the first day. All in all, she was a great addition for 6 days, and today when Everett got back from preschool I thought he was saying "where' s Daddy. I want Daddy to be here", but no, he was say he wanted baby J:( Then of course I got teary eyed as I did, too!!
