Another chance to say NO

I got another call for a possible placement of newborn from the hospital. They are not sure if he will be going to social services or Indian reservation(based on birth parent origin, they have to offer the baby to them), but probably being released tomorrow. And of course we are going to be on vacation the next two weeks! Didn't this happen last time a "real" placement was asked of us? Not to be again. Now IF we were in position that we had our hearts set on a baby to adopt, we would drop our plans for the next two weeks, but since that is not the case, it is easy to say no. This baby already has a sibling in the process of being adopted from the system, and that family can not take in another at this time, but since one was adopted, this new one may end up being adopted as well and we could be that family. If we said yes. Which we didn't. I don't get much vacation time, and starting tomorrow we have a lot of things packed into the next two weeks which a newborn just can't be part of. When the time is right, we will say yes. Maybe never to adoption, but to welcoming a baby/child into our home and hearts for more than a week. And may God protect and guide this newborn to safety and love of a family!
