Respite take five

We will be providing care for two little boys next week, ages 3.5 and 21 months. These poor kiddos have had a really tough time and I am not certain what to expect, but thankful that their grandmother has been caring for them the past month and helping them work through the events that have brought them into care. Please pray for us this week as it will be challenging, with starting the new school year and all the sports and activities and adding in these two unknown children, it could be quite the week. Pray that I will step up my patience and nurturing, that Scott will be extra supportive, and that the kids will all be excited to help and play the big sibling role for the week and not feel burdened or jealous. Pray that the children will be feel protected and safe and loved and part of the family while they are with us. I will not be saying YES to two children for long term, but it is so hard to say no when there are so many that need the safe place to go, and all it takes is just a bit more patience, a bit more love, a bit more juggling of schedules. God called us to sacrifice, and I am honored and thankful to be able to answer His call in this way. God is good, and His mercy endures forever- I am confident my patience and long suffering can last 7 days with his help:)
