Strep

Monday we sent baby G off to daycare with the same little sniffle she had last week. Tuesday morning she woke up SICK, so we kept her home. It was a good week for this as Scott was working from home, and she spent the entire morning sleeping! Her visit was cancelled, but social worker did come over for her home visit which was good- and baby G slept most of the time she was here, too. Wednesday she woke sicker, and I got Scott to take her to the doc in the morning while I was at work. Her symptoms were just nasty mucous/coughing/sneezing/congestion stuff, but they swabbed her for strep and it was positive! So now she is on antibiotic and feeling better, just a bit sniffly still and sleeping upright in her swing at night for the past few nights... Thankful she is doing better, and still curious why she had no fever or poor eating as generally comes with strep!

Today was she completely herself, and she is getting really active. I lay her on the playmat and walked away to hear Zuri call and tell me she was playing in the fort (blankets thrown over some cushions off the sofa). I went and looked and sure enough, baby G had rolled right in and was batting a blanket. I put her back where she belonged and came in when I heard the sound of her voice change, and found her under the futon playing foosball!! Everett found this hysterical, and it was pretty funny!!
Just happy to see her active and happy once again, but for a sick baby she was quite happy, just looked sick and sounded sick and slept a lot, and would cough and cough and cough and then vocalize a yell like "ENOUGH ALREADY!!" and turn all red and cough some more.  Here's to recovery!
