This past weekend we left the wee girl with a respite family for about 48 hours while we took a little vacation which included Hershey Park. We would have loved to take baby on our vacation, but amusement parks are not enjoyed fully by anyone with a 9 month old present, so thought we would make use of the respite service provided for us!
Sadly, she didn't find it very amusing. She was FINE, but she wasn't happy. I think she had a bit of a cold, maybe a bit of a reaction to being in a house with pets, and just not totally cool with being in someone else's house without me/us. When I received her back you could see the joy and relief on her little face, and I kept her home with me the next day/ with Scott working from home as she wasn't ready to part with us nor I with her!
Today when I picked her up at daycare the lady told me when she came in to daycare Wednesday afternoon (with the respite provider) she was a mess and had really red eyes and she was crying, then commented "I don't know what she is going to do without you", as she also sees daily the love that baby has for me! I don't know what I will do without her either. But I know she will be in good hands!
I was very happy to hear uncle call me "mom", and he called Mikaiah her brother. He recognizes we are who she thinks of as her family, I have total respect for that!
