I have been sickened more this week by how much we have. I want to live more simply! I know it is not possible to rid my home of toys and clothes and shoes, nor do I want every trace of these things gone, but I just want to bring in LESS and get rid of MORE. I filled two huge bins of stuff and moved it to the attic. I am waiting to see what if anything the kids will miss. If it is not missed, why do we have it taking up space, adding to the clutter?

Yes, we are trying to raise money at the same time as purge, so I am preparing to sell some of our items as well as give away a truck load. I am selling clothes at a consignment sale in a few weeks, and wanted to sell some prior as 1) I need hangers! and 2)easier to cart over less. I made 3 great sales, and had interest from someone else who said "I'm sort of a kiddie clothes brand name snob, what brands are they"? and for some reason this really irritated me. who the heck cares what brand your kid wears?! Are there bodies covered in clean clothes? REJOICE!!! Apologies to those who do care, that is your personal decision, but it is so unimportant to me, and obviously the one year old likes to play in the dirt in Target clothes just as much as Polo. Let us set our sights on higher matters here people! Americans. I swear one day I will move to a 3rd world country and live happily ever after...

Oh Lord, please help to love YOU and not riches of this world. Help us to put our hearts into loving others, and not trying to gain items to fill the voids in our lives. Only you can fill us, and all other things will turn to dust. Please allow us to obey your greatest commandment: love one another.
